Genuine Issue Magnesium Survival Fire Starter Review
Rubbing 2 sticks together
Allow me to paint you a story.
Imagine that you are out with a group of individuals, some that you know, others you don’t. Running through the woods, up a man-made trail. Your destination is a cavern, in the west indies. You’re unfamiliar with the territory but this is a trip that you’ve been planning for a very long time.
Your heart begins to beat faster, as you approach a clearing. Birds flutter away, and you can hear insects discussing politics. The sun has never shined brighter. The smile on your face could be seen from a satellite high above. Everyone’s yelling, and cheering because you’re all almost there. It’s been a long trip, but with your eye on the prize you’re going to make it.
You stop to catch your breath, looking down for a second to grab a canteen of fresh water from your pack. You quickly gulp it down, the cold water running down your throat. Refreshing you for what’s about to come.
Little do you know that the group of individuals that you were with were no longer there. There were just footprints, that you could see were in a rush. You don’t understand how this could happen, you were only looking away for 30 seconds at the most.
How could this happen?
Without thinking you decided to just keep on the trail, unfortunately it forked to the left and right. The left side going up a series of rocks, and into the mountains. The right side, descending down deeper into a lush forest.
You choose to go up the mountains, feeling that if you’re going to visit a cavern they’re more then likely going to be in the mountains. You stay at a constant jog, to conserve energy but you see no one. The trail gets rougher, and rain starts to fall. This is not good. You reach the top of a plateau and you take your sight to look down to see if you can see any signs of your group.
There are none.
Rain is falling harder, and you are soaking wet. You quickly realize that you need to get a fire started. There are no, matches in your pack, and you left your lighter back at base camp.
Luckily attached to your key chain is your Genuine Issue Magnesium Survival Fire Starter.
Finally some luck.
You reach for it, and even though it’s soaking wet you still start a fire in a little cavern with ease. The smoke rises into the air, and a passing plane see’s it and thinks it’s an S.O.S.
They pick you up and take you back to your camp.

Awesome! This is very great. A military issue magnesium fire starter. The flint rod will not break off in extreme cold, heat, or dropping on a hard surface unlike other models. Something to think about when buying one of these. You want your fire starter to stay intact.
