Junk Food Tee Shirt ‘Where the Wild Things Are Review’

One way to get your kids interested in reading

I’m trying my hardest as a dad, to get my kids interested in reading. In today’s world its very hard to get anyone interested in reading anymore. Everything that you see is in some way electronic, and read to you. I grew up reading books, the classics Melville, Cummings, and Williams just to name a few. I learned so much from reading these authors, and i want my children to experience the same sensation.

I also grew up reading the book where the wild things are. It’s a great book that teaches you a lot, about other peoples differences. I really wanted to get my son interested in it. I couldn’t just present the book to him, or he would just brush me off and play his X-box.

Where the Wild Things Are Book and Tee Combo

I decided to get him a T-Shirt with one of the characters on the front. I found that finding this T-Shirt was harder than i had anticipated. Relentlessly i searched for the perfect Tee though, and i finally found it.

On amazon.com they have a Where the Wild things Are T-shirt made by Junk Food. The sizes were perfect also, they had size 4T, 5T and 6. My son was wearing a 6, so that’s what I ordered him.

I also had to buy the where the wild things are book, which i didn’t own. I also found this on amazon.com. I bought both of these items for only $40.00.

I now had to wait for them to show up from amazon.com. In the past i found that amazon shipped their items very fast. Unfortunately this time, this was not the case. I paid for standard shipping and it took them almost 6 days to get these items to me. I received an email from them explaining that they were sorry for the delay and there was some sort of mix up.

Finally the day came when the package arrived at my doorstep though. I brought it into my home and showed my son. He looked perplexed, but was excited when i told him that i bought it for him.

He opened it up, with as much ferocity as a Christmas present. Biting at the tape, and clawing at the box. When he saw what was inside he loved the shirt right away, the book he didn’t even notice.

He said “oh cool dad a monster shirt, thanks”. I than showed him the book, and that night read it to him. This was the first step into getting my child interested in books.

The Junk Food Tee Shirt cost me $24.00
The Where the Wild Things Are Hard Copy Book cost me $12.21

That night was Priceless.
