The best thing about being married
My mother in law is the type that likes to buy things in two’s. When she goes out shopping she almost always comes back with one thing for her, and an identical thing for me. It’s usually a garment, or a pair of shoes. I really love the gesture, especially since most people usually have problems with their mother in laws.
Last weekend she came home with a few bags from a day out shopping. I wasn’t surprised when she handed me one of the bags, and said “i hope i got the size right”. She knew she had gotten the size right, because she’s practically bought me my entire wardrobe. Usually i just humor her, because the things that she sometimes buy me are just not my style, this time it was different though.
What she had bought me was actually cool, and cute. It was a Land’s End Women’s Regular Cotton Mock Turtleneck in Ivory. She then rattled off all the colors that this top was available in. She told me that it came in; Black, White, True Navy, Spice Brown, Blackberry, Vivid Plum, Jonquil, Light Seagrass, True Blue, Salsa Orange, Loden Green, and finally Seaside Pink.
I was relieved that she had gotten me the Ivory one, and to no surprise she had also gotten herself the Ivory one. She insisted that we both put them on and take a picture. I was dieing to see how this turtleneck was going to look on me anyways, so I complied.
I took it into the bathroom and as i slipped it over my neck and placed my head through the neck hole i could feel the softness of the material. The material pressed up against my body felt so nice, and i could tell automatically that this was a very durable garment.
The Land’s End Women’s Regular Cotton Mock Turtleneck fell right at my hip, which was a perfect length especially because of the pants that i was wearing at the time. I realized my favorite attribute of this item when i looked at it in the mirror, this turtleneck could be worn solo or layered.
It was honestly the best thing my mother in law had bought for me.
When i got home that night, i loved the turtleneck so much that i ended up ordering a few more in some of the colors my mother in law mentioned.

One of my favorite items to wear when i have to dress up. I don’t like to wear these along, but layered they are excellent.
